Yesterday I was invited to attend and help out at the 12 HOUR EASTER SEALS ‘RELAY’ EVENT AT WILLOWBROOK SHOPPING CENTRE IN LANGLEY, BC!
Various volunteers joined us at Willowbrook Shopping Centre in Langley on Friday, April 27th to cheer on our ‘Captains for Kids’ as they voluntarily ‘laced up’ their sneakers and toke turns walking on a treadmill for 12 hours to raise awareness about Easter Seals Camps, and the Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay & Kids4Kids fundraising event in June.

The Money Mart Easter Seals 24 Hour Relay and the Kids4Kids program is a chance for you to help send children with disabilities in your community to camp this summer. So for one week they don’t have to think about their disability, they can just go to camp like every other child.

Global BC’s Mark Madryga came to take ‘his’ turn on the treadmill in support of the 24 Hour Relay.

Top Dog and Mr. Fox from 99.3 were here as well!

I learned a lot about the camps from Bailey, a committed camper who will be attending the camp for the 5th year in a row. It was so nice of her to stay and help us promote awareness about the event! Thank You!

I will be particularly working closely with the Kids4Kids program. The program requires children to engage in at least one hour of physical activity each day, for 23 days, and they will complete the “final hour” of their relay at the main event on June 16. This is a great way to help children get in the habit of doing something active everyday and allows them to make their own contribution to Easter Seals since they are required to fundraise a minimum of $24.

I am looking forward to attending the main event at the Swangard Stadium on June 16 🙂 Anyone who is interested in joining us can visit www.24hourrelay.com!
