Hey everyone !!
Here I am writing to you all once again, haha! I’ve come to a realization, with all of our current “must haves” as teenagers… see now this is very important to many people out there, especially because I’ve been asked as a joke from numorous adults saying, “so what’s the latest technology device you kid’s are all wanting these days?” I know it sounds like really weird and all, but truthfully people ask me that… even if it’s just as a joke to tease our generation.
Although I could see it as a joke on them, because truthfully the kids “these days” are actually taking everything back in time. Let’s say it became noticeable with Instagram,
- By December 2010, Instagram had 1 million registered users. In June 2011 Instagram announced it had 5 million users and it passed 10 million in September of the same year. Instagram announced that 100 million photographs had been uploaded to its service as of July 2011. This total reached 150 million in August 2011.
- On February 27, 2013, Instagram announced that they had 100 million active users a month, only two years and a half after first launching.
Now if you read through the stats, you can notice Instagram had gone viral — with it also raging smartphone & android’s app stores top charts, for a long period of time. This is clear proof of something brilliant, only until you figure out the real purpose of Instagram. The actual app is used just for sharing your personal photos with a Polaroid look/effect. It has basically just become a electronic way to own your own Polaroid. Especially because most people can’t afford to spend $150 on a polaroid- and a continuous amount for the film. This was the beginning of people taking things back in time.
The next strange change in everything going forward, had possibly been when people started to dress like “hipsters?” Or simple definition of the 80/90’s style. I would have to say it’s the cutest style- and the most effortless look. Especially because fashion trends change from year to year, and normally are very unpredictable … but may I say to those who follow them, congrats to you ! Hahaha, I have to say from previous trends that have been pretty popular, they can take a whole lot of time in your morning. Unlike the 80/90’s look, all you need is high waisted shorts or overalls — with your beautiful crimped hair and bandanna, and you’re good to go! In addition to my personal opinion, I wanted to give you one very simple, visual example.
Here on the right we have the beautiful Amber Thiessen from a few years back. She is pulling off the typical 90’s look– during the beginning of the new time period, so very recent to the actual 90’s itself.
Now on the left we have the two gorgeous actresses Vanessa Hudgens, and Miley Cyrus. Here you’ll notice the incredible similarity to the picture of Amber Thiessen. Although the only difference in this photo of Miley and Vanessa is that it was most likely taken this year. Rewinding fashion, my friends.
However, I would like to conclude my chain of thought with the my opinion of our trends “these days.” With my example of Instagram and the 80/90’s fashion, (the top trends from back then, for this year) personally I love it all, I do own high waisted shorts, bandannas, old type writers, and my beloved Instagram. I just hope everything could stay like this for a while, before we become victim into the predicted super technology/sci-fi world. I could careless about robots maids, holographic phones, or whatever nonsense they predict. In my opinion, let’s Keep it Real.
