After being crowned as a titleholder, I’ve received a number of questions regarding the pageant so I decided to make a post dedicated to answering everybody’s questions.
Regarding the MTCW pageant, www.missteencanadaworld.com also has lots of info, however I will try to personalize my answers for your questions!
I will be working on this post progressively, so check back often for NEW questions/answers!
Here are some of the most common questions that I have been asked so far:
- What are the qualifications to enter the pageant?
Any female aged 13-19 who lives in Canada is eligible. I encourage all young girls who are up for challenges, willing to learn new things, open to life-changing experiences, and looking forward to meeting girls across the nation who also aim high to apply! You never know how far you will get until you take your first step.
- Why did I choose to join Miss Teen Canada World?
The pageant is the biggest in teen pageant in Canada, and this year is it’s fifth anniversary. When I came across the pageant online, what attracted me most was the fundraising component and volunteering opportunities that this pageant opens for its delegates. I hope to make the best of this chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people in my community and around the world.

- What is the judging criteria?
Contestants are judged on personal interview, evening gown, swimwear, charity contribution, public speaking, community engagement and photogenic appeal. Other categories include talent competition, written essay, social media, and other challenges. I enjoy exploring and utilizing a variety of skills through all these categories.
- Is there going to be voting?
Yes! There are various contests that are based on voting. There is the “vlog” challenge from Aveda Institute (Look Good, Do Good, Feel Good). As well, the voting for People’s Choice Award will begin during pageant week (mid-July). See my profile to vote! The winner will get fast tracked to the top 20! Thank you for the support!
- What is it like to be a title holder?
Over the past few months since I’ve been crowned, I have made several appearances wearing my crown and sash. Sometimes I forget why there seems to be an abnormal amount of people looking my way until I remember what I am wearing (haha!). Being a titleholder has made my busy life as an involved university student with a part-time job, even busier, yet I am enjoying every single moment of this experience as it is something I have never encountered before.
- Will the final event be aired on TV? When?
The show will unfortunately not be aired on TV, however, for the first time ever the pageant will be webcasted on missteencanadaworld.com on July 21 at 8pm Eastern Time.
Very thankful for readers like you who have contributed to my inspiration for this special post! Hope you enjoyed reading! Feel free to ask me any questions and I will answer and add them to this post!
