I am finally done with high school(wohoo!) and will have more time to blog here and connect with all of you lovely people!
Just before finals week at school I had the amazing opportunity to volunteer with The Children’s Wish Foundation, BC & Yukon Chapter at their Princess & Pirates Tea Party! It was such a wonderful time volunteering. There were many activities for the children to do including a photo booth, story time, sing alongs, a Princess Parlour where the kids could have their makeup and nails done, a colouring station, a magic show, a performance from Cirque Surrey and so much more! In addition to all the fun the children and their parents were having the funds raised went to The Children’s Wish Foundation so that they could grant more wishes!Y I was taking photos at the photo booth station and it was great to see how much fun the kids were having! At the end of the fun tea party I got to hand out cookies to all the lovely people who attended the event! I even got to take a few of them home and they were so yummy! The cookies they made looked almost too good to eat! Here is a photo of them! They were made by Sugar in case anyone wanted to buy some delicious cookies!
Children’s Wish is a Canadian charity that helps communities by giving the gift of a wish to a Canadian child who is diagnosed with a life threatening illness. Their wish is to give moments of joy to the child and their family and to connect healthcare professionals and communities. They have been granting wishes since 1984. Their wish granting has made a tremendous difference in the lives of children across Canada, and close to their 30 year milestone they granted the 20000th wish to a child with a life threatening illness.
Did you know that a single wish can impact up to 100 people?
Each day of the year without you knowing it Children’s Wish is granting the wish of three Canadian children.
Children who you think are eligible for a wish can be referred by ANYONE, the parents or legal guardian of the child just have to tell the Children’s Wish Foundation that they are interested in receiving a wish!
If you do not know of a child but still would like to help out the foundation by volunteering do not hesitate to contact them! The Children’s Wish Foundation is truly amazing! Everyone who was volunteering that day were some of the most positive happy people that I have met and they were a pleasure to work with! Here is a photo of all of us together after the amazing event. The link for information about volunteering and referring a child can be found below.
Hope that everyone is enjoying the amazing weather!
